Tony Pham lives in New York City and is the VP of Marketing at Superlayer, a leading web3 venture studio. In addition to his role at Superlayer, he serves as a startup advisor, certified Compassion Cultivation Training © teacher, and meditation instructor. He is passionate about working with those who identify as people of color, queer, and members of other reslient communities.

Meditation, Compassion, and Spiritual Offerings (BUTTERFLY TRUTH®)

Tony (he/they) started meditating in 2010 during a difficult time when he was questioning all the stories people told him about how and who to be. He is a heritage Buddhist, facilitator, and healer that occupies the intersection of queer and BIPOC identities. He also identifies as a 2nd generation Vietnamese American whose parents immigrated to the United States as refugees from war. Tony goes by Butterfly in spiritual spaces where they steward practices rooted in compassion, indigeneity, and sacred lineages. They are a student of Lama Rod Owens (Vajrayana/Tibetan Buddhism). They are also an alumnus of the East Bay Meditation Center’s PiTA8 trauma informed mindfulness program for social justice work. In addition to being a certified Compassion Cultivation Training © teacher at Tibet House US, Tony has also completed death doula and non-violent communication training. Butterfly offered a Dharma talk and guided meditation about compassion during The Dalai Lama Global Vision Summit 2023. They now reside in Brooklyn (occupied Canarsie/Munsee Lenape land).

Tony Pham is the Vice President of Marketing at Superlayer, the leading web3 venture studio with investors such as Marc Andreeseen, Chris Dixon, Paris Hilton, Joe Montana, and Nas. His responsibilities at Superlayer include branding, communications, community development, content marketing, digital, events, social, and integrated marketing strategy. Prior to joining Superlayer, he led marketing at Kadena, a scalable proof-of-work blockchain company. Previously, Tony was VP of Marketing at TrustToken (now Archblock), issuer of the TrueUSD (TUSD) stablecoin.

Tony began his career in Silicon Valley by running product and community marketing at Slide (founded by PayPal inventor Max Levchin, acquired by Google). After Slide, he was the first VP of Marketing at Life360, a popular family safety app used by over 60 million monthly active users around the world (IPO on ASX). Tony is recognized as a technology industry leader, having won a Webby Award and a Data-Driven CMO Growth Award. He has been an expert source and on-the-record spokesperson to media such as Bloomberg, CNN, CoinDesk, Cointelegraph, Forbes, and USA Today. Tony has also spoken at conferences such as Mobile World Congress (Barcelona), SxSW (Austin), and Marketing 2.0 (Paris). Outside of work, he mentors young entrepreneurs with 500 Global (Latin America) and volunteers as a national board member of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). He graduated from Grinnell College and is a Fulbright Scholar.
